After reading the trilogy of books and watching the first Swedish movie made from the books, I could not wait to see the Hollywood version of the story as directed by David Fincher. I tried not to read too many reviews before watching the film as I wanted to make my own decision on it based upon how I felt it related to the books by the late writer Stieg Larsson.
So I sat down with my popcorn for a late night screening of the movie waiting for it to start with butterflies in my tummy..... I was glued to my seat through the whole movie! I LOVED it!! And I cannot wait for the second and third movie! I would recommend everyone goes to see it (if its still showing of course) or at least rent it or buy it when it comes out on DVD. I think the adaptation from the book was very close (unlike the Swedish version which left out a lot of crucial plot point, but I wont start ranting on that don't worry). But the reason I am boring you will all of this is because the look for Lisbeth Salander was created by my all-time favourite make-up artist Pat McGrath!
McGrath is known for her amazing catwalk looks for the likes of Dior, Prada, Cavalli, the list just goes on and on. I love that she has left her comfort zone of the Catwalk to produce such a spectacular character look for Rooney Mara. I would never thought that something as slight as bleaching the eyebrows would have such a dramatic effect!
